Salon Policies & FAQs

Disclaimer

 By booking an appointment at Crowned by Nature, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the policies outlined on this page. Additional guidelines or procedures may also be posted within the salon. If you have any questions or do not fully understand any part of our policy, please contact the salon prior to your appointment.

Deposits

 A non-refundable deposit is required to secure all appointments. This deposit will be applied toward your total balance at checkout, with only the remaining amount due on the day of your service. 


If you need to reschedule, deposits may be refunded or transferred only if notice is given at least 48 hours (2 full days) in advance. Please note that only one reschedule per deposit is allowed. If you cancel or reschedule more than once, a new deposit will be required to book again.


Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable in the case of no-call/no-show appointments or same-day cancellations. We ask that you communicate promptly if you are running late or experience an emergency, as this helps us maintain fairness and flow for all clients.


Clients who maintain a regular booking schedule may be eligible to book future appointments without a deposit, at the discretion of the stylist. This benefit is based on consistency and reliability and may be revoked due to late cancellations or no-shows.


Thank you for honoring your appointment time and helping us provide a smooth and respectful experience for everyone in the salon.

Cancellations

If you find that you are unable to attend your scheduled appointment, we kindly request that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance. This advance notice allows us to reschedule your appointment and transfer your booking deposit appropriately. 


We maintain a strict Zero Tolerance policy regarding no-call/no-show incidents; individuals who reserve appointments without the genuine intention of attending will be prohibited from accessing our booking site for a minimum duration of one year. 


Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice will result in the forfeiture of the deposit and an additional fee amounting to 50% of the total service cost. In the event of a no-call/no-show, a cancellation fee of 80% will be imposed, with the deposit applied towards this fee. 


We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to these policies, as they help us maintain a high standard of service for all our clients.

Late Arrivals

 If you anticipate being late to your appointment, please call the salon as soon as possible. A 15-minute grace period is built into each appointment. After 15 minutes, the appointment is considered late and will be noted on your client file.


A late fee of $1 per minute will be applied starting at 16 minutes past your scheduled time, and is due at the time of service.


If you arrive more than 45 minutes late (15-minute grace period + 30 additional minutes), your appointment will be automatically canceled and you will be responsible for 100% of the service fee before you are eligible to rebook.


Excessive lateness may result in the loss of deposit-free booking privileges and may impact future scheduling options.

Booking Exceptions & Emergency Appointments

Effective Date: August 15, 2022


While we understand that life can be unpredictable, last-minute appointment requests place significant strain on the schedule. In the event that an emergency hair appointment is needed, the following fees will be applied based on the type of exception requested:


Emergency Appointment Fees:


  • Same-Day Requests – $30
     
  • Squeeze-In Appointments – $55
     
  • After-Hours Scheduling – $30 and up
     
  • Appointments on Posted Days Off (e.g., Sunday- Tuesday) – $50 and up
     

Definitions & Clarifications:


Same-Day Requests are defined as any appointment request made with less than 20 hours notice from the desired start time.


Squeeze-In Appointments are requests made on fully booked days where the stylist may rearrange the schedule (often sacrificing personal breaks or creating time conflicts) to accommodate the request. These are rare and will only be accepted when feasible.


After-Hours Scheduling applies to appointments with a start time within 1 hour and 30 minutes of salon closing time. For example, if closing time is 9:00 PM, an appointment at 7:30 PM may incur an after-hours fee due to the likelihood of exceeding posted hours.


Appointments on Posted Days Off, typically Sunday - Tuesday, will be subject to a fee starting at $50. However, if the appointment is completed before normal closing hours and does not require extended accommodations, the fee may be waived.


In some cases, multiple fees may apply (e.g., a same-day squeeze-in may be subject to both fees).


Because these accommodations are rare and require rearranging the schedule, we expect all clients to be proactive and mindful when booking. Let us continue to be good stewards of our time — honoring both the stylist’s schedule and the salon’s sacred space.

Consultations

 Consultations are an important part of our commitment to personalized, intentional care. At Crowned by Nature, we require consultations for certain services to ensure the best results and to protect the health of your hair.


A pre-appointment consultation is required for the following services:


  • Starter Micro Loc Services
     
  • All Hair Color Services
     
  • Clients experiencing hair loss or scalp concerns
     
  • Special occasion styling (e.g., weddings, photo shoots, formal events)
     

Consultations allow us to assess your hair’s current condition, discuss goals, and determine if the service is appropriate or needs to be customized. This step helps avoid surprises and ensures your crown receives the care it deserves.


The consultation fee will be credited toward your final service cost if the service is booked and completed within 30 days of the consultation.


Thank you for respecting this process—it helps us deliver results that honor both your vision and your hair’s health.

Children

 

At Crowned by Nature, we welcome young clients and believe that learning to love and care for their natural hair starts early. We happily service children ages 3 to 9, provided they are able to sit calmly for the majority of the service.


To help ensure a smooth and positive experience, we ask that all children arrive fully detangled, well-rested, and fed. This supports both the comfort of your child and the efficiency of the appointment. If excessive tangling is present, a detangling fee may be applied at the stylist’s discretion.


Additional Guidelines:


  • Children who are not being serviced must be accompanied and fully supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. Crowned by Nature is not responsible for unattended children or any personal or property damages that may occur during the visit.
     
  • Additional children may attend the appointment only with prior approval from the salon. Please contact us in advance if you need to bring more than one child.
     
  • Mommy-and-Me promotions may be available for select services. Please inquire during booking or by contacting the salon directly.

FAQs

 

Q: Is hair included with my service?


A: Hair is only included when specifically stated in the service description. Most specials and promotional deals include hair, but standard services typically do not. Please review the service details carefully before booking.


Q: Do you offer travel appointments?


A: Travel services are available only under special circumstances. A travel fee will be assessed at the time of booking, based on distance and time required. If you would like to request a travel appointment, please contact the salon directly to discuss your needs.


Q: How long will my service take?


A: Service times vary depending on the style and hair condition. Estimated timing is listed in each booking description. If you're unsure, feel free to reach out before your appointment.


Q: What products do you offer?


A: We’re currently developing new natural hair and beauty products through our Beauty by Nature line. Be sure to follow us on Instagram and check the website to be among the first to know when they launch!


Q: What are your expectations for client preparation?


A: To ensure the best service experience, clients must arrive with fully detangled hair, ready for shampooing. Please hydrate before your appointment and be prepared to remain seated and focused for the full duration. Children are welcome, but they must be able to sit calmly and follow instructions.


Parents may drop off children for their appointment, but must remain within 20 minutes driving distance from the salon. If someone must accompany the client, please notify us in advance so we can accommodate seating. Clients may bring prescribed shampoos, but bringing your own product does not alter the service price.
